DPIA - Data Protection Impact Assessment - evaluates risk of high-risk or significant processing; must meet or exceed GDPR requirements.

DPIA in context
- CAs borrow from [[DPIA]]s and product-safety assessments but cover ==safety, rights and fundamental impacts==, not only data protection; the EU registers high-risk systems in a ==public EU database before market placement==. (Conformity assessments, registration and notification)
- The AIA covers data issues; a DPIA tackles personal-data risk; a PIA confirms PII handling complies. (Impact Assessments in the Design Phase)
